We believe sustained life change happens best in Small Groups. A Small group (we call them Life Groups) is made up of four to five married couples or six to eight individuals that meet together throughout the week in homes in our community and in classrooms in the church. Life groups are more than Bible Studies. They are places where you can work through the tough questions and struggles of life in a safe community.
LIFE GROUPS FAQ
How much of my
time is this going to take?
Typical Life Groups last approximately 2 hours each—thirty minutes for snacking, eating, and hanging out; one hour for Bible Study; and a half hour for prayer. If you like each other...you may want to stay longer :)
What are we going
to do with our children during Life Group?
Some Life Groups allow children to come. Others do not. It depends on the topic and facilities.
Am I going to have
to talk or can I just sit and listen during meetings?
Life Groups are like family - sometimes you talk, sometimes you listen. No one is forced to talk or to lead the group. As the group develops, people become much more comfortable.
Will I have to
pray out loud?
No. Again, you are allowed to move, grow, at your own pace. When you
want to share a prayer concern or pray out loud, you will be encouraged
to do so.
How much do I have
to know about the Bible?
None. Life Groups are all about learning the Bible not debating it or being tested on it. There will be seasons when all Life Groups will study topics that coincide with the sermon series. Other groups study books of the Bible or other topics.
How many weeks or
months is this group going to last?
Initially, Most Life Groups agree to meet for six weeks. Life Group is like family, some of them last for years, others multiply and start new groups in 12 to 18 months.
Where can I find a Life Group?
They are available right now. There should be a list available in the church foyer. Ask someone in church if all else fails. New groups start in the Spring and Fall.
